RELOCATION PROCESS AND DURATION:
The customer must be present during the pickup and drop off walkthroughs.
PACKING & DAMAGE WAIVER:
Our services do not include the removal or installation of articles secured to the premises. Dot will not disassemble any items for transportation. All items must be in a condition suitable for transport at the time of pick-up. If any item cannot be transported in its current condition, it will be deemed ineligible for storage, and the Dot reserves the right to refuse transportation and storage of such items. We reserve the right not to move any item(s) that cannot be moved safely in their present condition.
The Customer’s responsibility to provide proprietary parking space. We are not responsible for any damage to parking spaces, and driveways as well as any oil stains or scratches on the pavement. We reserve the right to cancel the move or request an additional charge if there is no parking space provided or the driveway is not accessible.
We are not responsible for any damage to any of the following: any item, furniture, or equipment moved full with contents therein; any item or furniture with an inherent weakness, such as those already damaged or defective, or having undergone prior repairs; any furniture, item, or material which is weak due to its nature, usage, wear, or age; any furniture or items of unique or fragile nature, such as glass; any furniture or items of unique or fragile design, such glass on glass, glass on metal, glass legs, etc.
PICK UP, DELIVERY AND EXTENSIONS
If the Customer requests the return of their stored items before the agreed-upon end date, Dot will accommodate the request. However, no partial refunds will be provided for early retrieval, and the Customer will be charged a minimum storage fee equivalent to four (4) months of storage, regardless of the actual time the items were stored.
The pick-up and delivery dates for the Customer's items must be agreed upon in advance between the Customer and Dot. If the Customer requires an extension beyond the originally agreed-upon storage period, additional storage time can be purchased in two-week increments for a fee of $50 + HST per extension. All extension requests must be made in writing at least 5 business days before the end of the current storage period.
If the Customer is unable to accept delivery of their items within two (2) weeks of the scheduled drop-off date, Dot reserves the right to charge additional storage fees at a rate of $50 plus HST for every two-week period (biweekly) until delivery is arranged and completed.
If the Customer is still unable to take delivery within four (4) months of the scheduled drop-off date, and extended storage fees have been applied and are unpaid, Dot reserves the right to consider the items as abandoned and may take steps to repossess or dispose of the items without any further notice or compensation to the Customer. All outstanding storage fees and any costs related to repossession or disposal will remain the responsibility of the Customer.
LIMITED LIABILITY
The Customer agrees that the Dot’s total liability for any damages, losses, or claims arising out of or related to this Agreement, including but not limited to damages to the Customer's furniture or any other property, shall be limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the storage and delivery services under this Agreement. Under no circumstances shall Dot be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, loss of profits, or loss of value, even if the Dot has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
