Adding a Dash of Green Using Planters for Your Home

Plants are good for you Plants help clean the air, purify water and reduce stress. But did you also know that they can bring a whole lot of colour and life to your home? Adding plants to your home does not have to be hard—there are so many options available! From planters on windowsills and even pots on decks, there's no shortage of ways to bring greenery into your living space or outdoor area. So, if you're looking for some inspiration or just want to spruce up your interior design with some green thumb action: here are our favourites!

Planters are a great way to add life to your home. They can brighten up your entryway, showcase greenery on your deck, or be used to increase privacy in your yard. Many styles and sizes of planters are available so it's important to choose one that fits your needs.

You can find planters in almost every style, size and shape. They can be small or large and made from fiberglass, metal or plastic. Some are designed for indoor and outdoor use while others are meant for indoor use only. If you want to add some greenery to your home without making a big commitment or spending much money on plants (or even soil), then planters may be the way to go!
When choosing a container, consider how much sunlight it will get, what plants you want to grow and the overall design of your home and outdoor spaces.

  • The size of the container: Your planter should be large enough to hold all of your plants without crowding them or leaving empty space at the bottom. You may also want to consider how many plants you intend on planting in each pot, so they don't compete with each other for nutrients and water.
  • Amount of sunlight: If you live in an area with bright sun exposure throughout most of the day, then choose large pots that provide full sun exposure for most hours during daylight hours (at least six). However, if there are several hours where direct sunlight isn't available due to shade from trees or buildings around your property line then select smaller containers which can still receive indirect light through windows inside homes or other structures nearby outside walls such as patios or gazebos.

What about a drainage hole?
Root health is extremely important for plants. Their roots are how they get nutrients from soil and water, and having properly draining soil can keep your plants' roots healthy. Leaving a plant sitting in stagnant water can lead to rotting of the roots or keep them from absorbing nutrients properly. Planters with drainage holes at the bottom allow excess water in the soil to drain, keeping the water at a level that helps your plants thrive. While different plants have different levels of moisture tolerance, you'll probably want to create a drainage layer with pebbles, pumice, or activated charcoal when using a pot without holes at the bottom. Our fiberglass planters do not have drainage holes but can easily be drilled.

There are many ways to add a little green in your life!

  • Plants can help you relax, improve your mood and increase productivity.
  • They can help you sleep better.
  • They can help you breathe easier.
  • And they may even make it possible for you to live longer too!
  • Plus, the people who work in offices with plants report being more productive than those who don't have them around at all!

Taking care of plants can be a relaxing hobby that adds beauty to your home. Just make sure you have all the tools you need to keep your green thumb bright and happy!
